Summer Golf Course Intern
Country Club in Briarcliff Manor, New York is looking for a Summer Golf Course Intern.

Position Overview:
The internship program aims to expose candidates to the agronomics and maintenance practices necessary to maintain a Top 100 golf course. We take pride in providing championship-level playing surfaces on a daily basis to our membership and their guests. Interns are involved in every aspect of the day-to-day operations, and will work directly alongside the assistant superintendents and the golf course superintendent.

Interns can expect to be involved in:
• Daily course setup, including special event/tournament setup strategy.
• Moisture management on all playing surfaces.
• Plant protectant and fertilizer applications using a wide array of equipment.
o including spray hawks, traditional boom sprayers, and GPS boom sprayers.
• Irrigation system operation, repair, and maintenance practices.
o both new Toro 2-wire SmartHub system and Toro VP Satellite system.
• In-season cultural practices including spiking, needle-tining, topdressing, and groom/brushing.
• Involvement in disease/insect scouting and IPM record-keeping.
• Long and short term budget strategies.
• Introduction to data collection and digital tools.
o including application recording with Playbooks, job scheduling with TaskTracker, and speed and firmness data using the USGA GS3 ball and Deacon software.
• Volunteer and networking opportunities at other top clubs in the Metropolitan area.

Requirements:
Ideal candidates should be planning on attending, are currently enrolled in, or have recently completed a turf program.
No previous experience is required, basic knowledge of the game of golf is helpful.
Positive attitude.
Desire to learn and ask questions.
Willing to work in a team environment.

Compensation:
$19 per hour.
