Assistant Golf Course Superintendent
Golf Club in Fernandina Beach, Florida is looking for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.

Position Overview:
Responsible for helping the Head Superintendent with the operation of the golf course setup and maintenance. We are looking for an Assistant Superintendent who is looking to advance their career under the supervision of the current Head Superintendent. Applicant should have training or experience dealing with irrigation controls, chemical applications, some mechanical knowledge, and use of most golf course agronomic equipment.

Responsibilities:
• Responsible for all phases of Golf Maintenance and Agronomic operations and cost control.
• Work closely with, advise, and report to the Head Superintendent on golf course maintenance issues.
• Train staff on safe operation of maintenance equipment and daily care of equipment.
• Work closely with the Superintendent to operate the Golf Course in a fiscally responsible and professional manner and to stay within course budget.
• Schedule maintenance practices around daily play to maximize efficiency and minimize player disturbances.
• Knowledge of Bermuda grass, including Tift Eagle putting greens and common Bermuda fairways and rough.
• Assist with annual budget forecasting.

Requirements:
Associates or Bachelors in Turf Management or related field.
Basic working knowledge of computer required.
A minimum of 3 years experience as a Spray Technician or Assistant Superintendent.
Must have Florida State Pesticide License or ability to acquire within 90 days of employment and maintain an active license at the club’s expense.
Must be able to work some weekends and holidays if necessary.

Compensation:
$43,000 – $56,000 per year.
1-week vacation after 1 year and 2 weeks vacation after 2 years.
