Assistant Golf Course Superintendent
Country Club in Pleasant Hill, California is looking for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.

Position Overview:
Country Club is seeking a full-time Assistant Superintendent to support its year-round golf course maintenance operation. This leadership role offers the opportunity to work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and Co-Assistant Superintendent while gaining experience to prepare for advancement to Golf Course Superintendent. The position is part of a fast-paced, hospitality-focused property and is designed for a motivated individual eager to learn, contribute, and grow.

Essential Responsibilities
• Take ownership of the daily planning, scheduling, and execution of golf course maintenance operations while leading, mentoring, and developing 25+ team members.
• Assist with irrigation management, fertilizer and pesticide applications, cultural practices, tournament preparation, and course setup.
• Work directly with the Golf Course Superintendent and Co-Assistant Superintendent to develop and implement short- and long-term agronomic plans.
• Participate in Green Committee meetings.
• Gain exposure to budgeting, capital planning, and strategic decision-making.
• Take ownership of projects and contribute ideas that improve course conditions and departmental operations.
• Attend local and national educational opportunities, conferences, and industry events.
• Receive mentorship and increasing responsibility designed to prepare for the next career step.

Requirements
• Degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field.
• Experience as an Assistant Superintendent, Second Assistant Superintendent, Spray Technician, Foreman, or another golf course maintenance leadership role ready to take the next step.
• California Qualified Applicator License (QAL) or Qualified Applicator Certificate (QAC), or the ability to obtain either within six months of hire.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Passion for developing people and producing exceptional playing conditions.
• Cover letter required; portfolio optional.

Compensation
$80,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year.
