Assistant Golf Course Superintendent
Golf Club in Lothian, Maryland is looking for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.

Position Overview:
The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and the 2nd Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to manage and oversee the daily operations of the golf course and grounds. This position requires a hands-on approach to managing all facets of the golf course maintenance operation.

Key Responsibilities
• Mentor, train and supervise the staff
• Assign tasks to the golf course maintenance staff
• Operate irrigation system as needed
• Moisture management and proper hand watering
• Apply plant protectants, insecticides, herbicides and fertilizer as needed
• Troubleshoot and repair irrigation and drainage systems
• Assist and manage all projects on the golf course and grounds
• Assist with aeration and cultural practices
• Monitoring turf conditions and the ability to take corrective action
• Participate in daily maintenance practices as needed

Requirements
2-5 years of golf course experience
Supervisory or crew-lead experience preferred
Knowledge of turfgrass species, irrigation systems, and maintenance equipment
Valid driver’s license; pesticide applicator license or ability to obtain one within 6 months
Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
Mentor, train and supervise the staff
Assign tasks to the golf course maintenance staff

Apply plant protectants, insecticides, herbicides and fertilizer as needed
Monitoring turf conditions and the ability to take corrective action
Participate in daily maintenance practices as needed

Compensation
$68,000 – $72,000 per year.
