Assistant Golf Coach
School in North Charleston, South Carolina is looking for an Assistant Golf Coach.

Position Overview:
Reporting to the Head Men’s and Women’s Golf Coach the Assistant Golf Coach will be a contract employee. The position will uphold and assist the Head Coach, his vision, and the mission of the university’s Division I Men’s and Women’s Golf programs. The position will understand and embrace the academic and Christian mission of the university, including the role that Athletics serves to support that mission.

Program Assistance:
• Collaborate with athletic and administrative staff to advance the goals, mission, and core values of the university and department.
• Provide Christ-like mentorship of student athletes in accordance with the mission and values of the university.
• Enable the achievement of a quality, competitive sports program and support the educational goals of individual student athletes by demonstrating a coaching philosophy that encourages those goals and promotes an environment conducive to both.
• Follow the standards set forth by the head coach as it relates to a positive image in the areas of personal behavior, conduct, and appearance on and off the university campus, participating in community and professional organizations, representing the university at professional meetings and on community committees.
• Understand NCAA, Big South Conference, and the rules and regulations governing member institutions.
• Disciple and assist with character development of student athletes.

Coaching: Training and Game Planning:
• Assist in skill instruction, player development, and coaching practices of student athletes concerning tactical and technical strategies.
• Ability to effectively scout and game plan for tournaments.
• Organize and direct individual and small group practice activities and exercises as directed by the head coach.
• Assist the head coach with supervising student-athletes during practice and competition.

Recruiting:
• Contribute in all recruiting efforts of the program and identify potential student-athletes to fill needs in order to enhance the program.
• Conduct unofficial and official visits following approval from the Compliance Department.
• Remain current and proactive in NCAA and conference legislation on recruiting practices and guidelines.

Program Operations:
• Protect the integrity of the sport coached and the reputation of the intercollegiate athletics program of the university by ensuring that recruiting activities, student-athlete eligibility determination, scholarships, and financial aid programs, scheduled practice sessions, and related activities governed by the NCAA are in compliance with NCAA rules and regulations as well as applicable conference rules and university policies.
• Oversee on-campus housing efforts of student-athletes in liaison with the Compliance Department.
• Assist the head coach with other administrative duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree.
Coaching relevant sport at the high school, collegiate, and/or professional level and experience competing in relevant sport at the collegiate or professional level. Applicants must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be computer literate with a working knowledge of Windows and MS Office, and the ability to quickly learn and work with new computer software systems.
Must be able to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
