Assistant Golf Course Superintendent-in-Training
Golf Club in Shoreline, Washington is looking for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent-in-Training.

Position Overview:
Gain experience in small project management/oversight and will be expected to be a leader and voice on our staff. AITs will also train with and work alongside each of our full-time staff members to gain practical hands-on experience in all areas of course maintenance. AITs can expect to learn and take part in disease scouting, moisture management and a variety of other tasks including course set-up, bunker maintenance, and mowing. The candidate can expect to gain experience in operating mowers and other heavy machinery (tractors, backhoes, aerifiers etc.) to improve an overall skill set needed for the next step in one’s career. All aspects of turfgrass maintenance will be emphasized. Successful AITs will gain the experience to understand and implement sound agronomic strategies and cultural practices and develop solid management skills through hands-on leadership opportunities.

Requirements:
A degree or certificate in turfgrass maintenance or a related field is preferred.
Work experience will be considered in lieu of education.
Continued education opportunities will be available, and AITs will be expected to participate.
AITs will be expected to obtain their pesticide applicator license after 90 days of employment.
Experience working on a golf course maintenance crew is preferred but not required.
At least one year of general landscaping experience is required.

Compensation:
$25 – $26 per hour.
