Assistant Golf Professional
Golf course in Powell Butte, Oregon is looking for an Assistant Golf Professional.

Position Overview:
Responsible for leading and managing all Golf Operations. The position is an integral member of the team responsible for driving revenue, member & resort guest satisfaction, and overall Team Member engagement.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Tee sheet management, utilization and management of pace of play, ensure correct player types are entered.
• Assisting in day-to-day personnel management of golf operations employees, ensuring performance compliance with approved job description and providing coaching and motivation.
• Event preparation and management of club events prior to and day of events.
• Under the direction of the director of golf and head professional:
• Help manage member weekly men’s and women’s club formats from setup, managing, and awards following day’s event(s) utilizing event software.
• Oversee and/or support posting and other administrative duties of the golf handicap system.
• Communicate with golf maintenance and golf personnel to ensure a consistent clean and attractive appearance for the practice range tee to encourage players to increase their utilization of the area.
• Assist with the review of daily POS transactions for golf, merchandise, and proper accounting and reporting.
• Engage Brasada Ranch membership, and resort guests to enhance the golf experience.
• Promote private lessons, group clinics, junior golf, and golf camps to our members and resort guests. Golf instruction as approved by director of golf or head professional and minor club repair. Member golf camps, clinics, and playing lessons are also calculated within the candidate’s compensation package.
• Work closely with food and beverage team during golf events to ensure a great tournament experience for all involved.
• Assist with golf shop inventory management, including creating attractive golf shop displays with bi-weekly repositioning of merchandise in the shop and monthly sale promotions.
• Support the 1st assistant in management & supervision of the golf services team including recruiting, training, scheduling, leading and working alongside the team during peak times.
• Managing golf cart rotation, servicing and management of entire fleet.
• Playing, as time permits, with members and guests.
• Enroll and/or progress as a PGA associate completing 3 education levels with the ultimate goal of PGA membership.
• Assist with projects as directed by the director of golf (and operations) including treatment of all exterior wood furniture with stain.
• Assist with other department operations as needed and as directed within the club operations division, including athletic center, golf maintenance, and equestrian club.
• Attend Central Oregon Golf show for sales as approved/directed and promote group golf.
• Work cooperatively with other members of the resort’s management and services team.
• Be able to assume responsibilities of the 1st assistant golf professional when needed.
• Teaching and club fitting opportunities, including simulator utilization in our newly created three-stall indoor golf barn.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or hospitality or equivalent experience preferred.
A minimum of 1 years’ experience in a similar role or service operation, preferably in a resort capacity preferred.
Proven love of golf, the “golf shop environment” and a strong desire to progress in the PGA Associate pathway.
Must have completion of PGA Level 1 or beyond.
Must be proficient with member and guest hospitality, including organization and team development.
Proficiency in the following software required: MS Outlook, Word, Publisher, Excel and PowerPoint.
Golf Genius and Jonas preferred.
Knowledge of USA Rules of Golf.
Excellent written and oral communication skills preferred.
CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Compensation:
$24.00 – $25.00 per hour.
