Assistant Golf Professional
Golf Course in Newton, New Jersey is looking for an Assistant Golf Professional.

Position Overview:
Assist in overseeing all aspects of the golf operations, including staff, organizing tournaments, providing instruction, and ensuring an exceptional member experience. The position will embody strong leadership, a deep knowledge of the game of golf, thorough knowledge of club software and the ability to maintain the club’s policies and procedures and offer high standards of hospitality. Should be available mornings, nights, weekends and holidays based on the Golf and Tournament Schedule. The anticipated months of employment are April – November.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Be fully present for outside ops, greeting and checking in members from the outside podium. This would entail the HGP, AGP, and at times, other staff.
• Spearhead staff onboarding and training requirements in accordance with the club and NJ state and federal policies.
• Attention to “pace of play” standards, working diligently to pair singles and doubles to enhance member experience.
• Attend all Tournament Committee meetings with the HGP and other applicable meetings, at times being Greens and others as needed.
• Ensures course is properly marked at all times.
• Maintain a high profile with membership and guests. When available and if possible, the AGP will play the golf course with members.
• Maintain the database for CapPatrol, Golf Genius, and ClubEssential POS/Tee to ensure proper tracking of rounds, guest/greens fees, and tournament results. This database should be updated daily and within 24 hours of the tournament’s end or the end of the billing day.
• Project a positive, favorable image of the club with prospective members, guests, and members. Represent the club in area professional events including local, state, or national events with the approval of the tournament committee whenever possible.
• Assist in coordinating clinic schedules to include Men’s, Ladies Juniors and mixed clinics. Offer the ability for members to schedule lessons.
• Attend national and sectional conferences/meetings, merchandise shows, and educational and professional shows to encourage development and to enhance the quality and image of the club.

Requirements:
PGA/LPGA membership or actively pursuing membership.
2+ years of experience in a golf professional role, with supervisory responsibilities preferred.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations and tournament operations.
Thorough understanding of club software (golf genius, tee sheet, capppatrol, etc- training offered).

Compensation:
$50,000.00 – $60,000.00 per year.
