Head Golf Coach
High School in Fountain Hills, Arizona is looking for a Head Golf Coach.

Position Overview:
Guide and assist students in learning skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible citizens.

Duties:
• Meet and instruct assigned activities in the locations and times designated.
• Create an environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
• Prepare for assignments.
• Encourage students to set and maintain acceptable standards of behavior.
• Employ a variety of techniques to enhance the activity.
• Assist students to become self-directed learners.
• Understand and apply knowledge about student growth and development in order to provide maximum student learning.
• Implement the District’s philosophy of education.
• Enforce safety precautions and guidelines to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
• Maintain accurate, complete and correct records as required by laws, District policy and administrative regulations.
• Assist the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student behavior and conduct.
• Enforce and follow the policies and administrative regulations of the District.
• Has responsibility for the overall supervision of the program, including freshman, sophomore and junior varsity teams.
• Is in charge of assigning duties of assistant coaches working in the program and conducting certain aspects of their evaluation.
• Is responsible for keeping practice periods for the sport within reason and with due consideration to the coaching staff and welfare of participants.
• Is responsible for the general upkeep, protection and inventory of equipment under his/her jurisdiction.
• Writes at the end of the season an annual report evaluating the program with recommendations for improvements.
• Is responsible for recommending purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms as appropriate.
• Has a shared responsibility for striving to build good sportsmanship and developing good public relations in the school and community.
• Plans and schedules a regular program of practice in season.
• Oversees the safety condition of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times that students are present.
• Promotes the sport by prompt and accurate score reporting to the local media.
• Cooperates with all other coaches in providing the optimum sports program possible under existing conditions.
• Keeps abreast of new developments, innovative ideas and techniques by attendance at clinic workshops and readings in the field.
• Performs other duties as related to their assignments as designated by the Principal and/or the Athletic Director.
• Enforces discipline and sportsman like behavior at all times establishes and oversees penalties for breach of such standards by individual students.
• Encourages good sportsmanship and desirable pupil/teacher relationships.
• Be certain that all team members under their direction have successful passed a physical examination, have parental permission and an insurance statement signed.
• Thoroughly explains eligibility requirements and participation rules to all squad members. If a violation occurs, make sure you discuss it with the athlete. Don’t assume he/she knows the consequences, procedures and resources. Due process must be utilized.
• Is responsible for clearing with the Athletic Director, the departure time for trips that involve loss of school time, and for seeing that the faculty is given adequate and appropriate notice.
• Should see that all participants have transportation home when returning from road trips in late evening hours.
• Monitors the eligibility status of all team members. Provide opportunities for remediation such as study sessions, tutoring, etc.
• Develop guidelines for team try-outs, cuts and practice schedule.
• Maintain accurate team and individual records.
• Assist in development of match schedule.
• Develop budget.
• Inventory and maintain equipment.
• Plan and implement fundraisers as needed.
• Drive district vehicles to away matches.
• Work with local golf course management to develop guidelines for use of golf facility.
• Provide information and encouragement for players to seek individual instruction.
• Perform all duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Understanding of golf techniques, etiquette and course management (strategy).
Capable of modeling skills and techniques.

Compensation:
$5,092.00 per year.
