Head Golf Coach
High School in Pea Ridge, Arkansas is looking for a Head Golf Coach.

Position Overview:
Essential Duties – Coaching:
• Adhere to Pea Ridge School District Athletic Department Philosophy and policies.
• Conducts self as a personal example of positive demeanor for the athletes and represents the school in a favorable manner.
• Assesses player’s skills and assigns team positions.
• Coaches and instructs players, individually and in groups, regarding rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
• Observes players during competition and practice to determine the needs for individual or team improvement.
• Determines game strategy based on the teams’ capabilities.
• Scouts opponents and game plans with head coach and assistant coaches.
• Conducts meetings, as necessary.
• Follows established procedures in the event of an athlete’s injury.
• Maintains coaching certifications, as required by the Arkansas Activities Association and Pea Ridge School District.
• Maintains accurate records for students athletes, practices, and programs.
• Follows established procedures for the proper care, maintenance, and requisitioning of equipment, supplies, and uniforms.
• Responsible for the safety and security of athletes and team before, during, and after program events.
• Monitor scholastic eligibility of student athletes.
• Communicates with families and athletes, as needed.
• Perform other duties, as assigned.

Teaching Responsibilities: • Teaches district-approved curriculum based on state frameworks and standards. • Prepares for assigned classes, and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor. • Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt and differentiate the curriculum to the needs of each pupil. • Translates lesson plans into developmentally appropriate learning experiences. • Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved. • Evaluates pupils’ academic growth through teacher-made tests, standardized tests, checklists, observations, demonstrations, and other performance assessments; keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports. • Identifies pupil needs, makes appropriate referrals, and develops strategies to support students with individual education plans. • Makes modifications for G/T, ELL, LD, physically impaired, at-risk, and other needs of individual students, including their learning styles. • Creates a safe and orderly classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students. • Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student conduct, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner. • Is available to students and parents for education-related purposes during the instructional day and extended hours when necessary. • Plans and coordinates the work of paraprofessionals, parents, and volunteers. • Attends and participates in faculty meetings, PLC, and professional development activities. Collaborates with other members of the staff in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods; assists in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials. Supports and participates in extracurricular activities, such as PTA/PTO, sporting and cultural events, etc. • Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to maintain a safe and orderly environment to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. • Communicates regularly with various internal and external publics to develop and maintain a positive school/community relationship.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree.
Valid Arkansas Teachers license with Coaching endorsement or Teacher/Coach Certification.
3 years of current or past experience as head or assistant coach, preferred.
Demonstrated ability to instruct and supervise student-athletes.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in appropriate major or course of study.
Valid teaching license for grade level and subject area assigned.
Meets requirements for Highly Qualified Teacher designation, if applicable to the teaching assignment.
