1st Assistant Golf Professional
Golf Club in Golden, Colorado is looking for a 1st Assistant Golf Professional.

Position Overview:
Assist the Head Golf Professional in the management of day-to-day golf operations of the facility. This person will be an active ambassador for an exceptional golf experience.

Specific Responsibilities:
• Assist the Head Golf Professional in overseeing the management and performance of all Golf Shop, applicable department operations and services; assure high standards and total customer satisfaction.
• Assist with management of Outside Operations Staff to ensure the highest quality of customer service is achieved.
• Facilitate and manage tournament operations. Coordinate tournament operations and weekly events for men’s and women’s programs including planning, pre-tournament operations, post-tournament billing, promotion, course set-up, preparation, scoring, prize distribution, and follow-up.
• Oversee the golf shop operation policies, procedures, controls, and fee structures
• Assist in the inventory control of hard goods, soft goods, and special orders including ordering procedures, receiving procedures, inputting into point of sale, pricing procedures, display, and sales
• Trains, motivates, and develops Golf Shop staff to ensure effective sales and service performance and techniques and product knowledge.
• Assist with all opening and closing procedures.
• Conduct individual lessons and group clinics, as applicable.
• Re-gripping as well as other minor club work including modification, if the equipment necessary is available.
• Conduct oneself in a professional manner and always maintain a professional image.

Requirements:
Experience in instruction, club fitting, golf shop merchandise operations and tournament operations are important.
The use of interpersonal skills – including a positive attitude, the ability to solve conflict, and giving constructive feedback – as well as having good verbal and written communication skills will also be necessary.
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum two years of vocational or industry training in a specifically golf or high-volume retail-related program or organization.
Computer Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, tournament, tee sheet, POS, and event software
Cash handling and counting change.
A combination of experience and education may be considered.

Preferred Consideration will be given for the following:
A PGA member in good standing, or eligible Associate PGA Professional, capable of attaining a Class A membership in the PGA of America within the timeline provided by the program is strongly preferred.
Eligible Associate PGA Professional, or Level 3 PGM Student.
Minimum two years’ experience in a golf operation with supervisory duty.
Teaching experience in the game of golf.
Three years in a high-volume retail sales environment, preferably golf, with progressive responsibility during that time.

Compensation:
$55,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year.
