1st Assistant Golf Professional
Country Club in Michigan City, Indiana is looking for a 1st Assistant Golf Professional.

Position Overview:
Assist the Head Golf Professional and offer outstanding service to members of the club.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Responsible for assisting in the day-to-day golf operations.
• Provide lessons and clinics for all skill levels.
• Oversee and execute the junior golf program.
• Assist in managing golf shop and bag room staff.
• Assist in the merchandising operation of the golf shop and inventory control
• Organize and conduct club events as well as Men’s and Ladies Leagues.
• Practice and play with members.
• Assist with maintaining the handicap system at at the club.
• Assist in monitoring play at the 1st tee and on the course.
• Responsible for schedule the outside staff.
• interpreting the rules of golf for members.
• Help in the golf shop in absence of golf shop staff.
• Assist conducting club fittings for members.
• All candidates must be enrolled as a PGA program and remain in good standing as they progress through the program.
• Help members with basic club repair needs.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
Enrolled in the PGA program and desire to complete the program.
A desire to move up within the golf industry.
Experience with all facets of tournament operations.
A competent background of teaching and fitting.
Knowledge and ability to administer of the rules of golf.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Knowledge of the USGA rules of golf and handicapping.
A competent player that will compete in section events and play with members.
Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
Experience managing and supervising staff.
Must demonstrate good leadership skills and mentoring.
Must lead be example and be a role model to staff.

Compensation:
$45,000.00 – $55,000.00 per year.
