1st Assistant Golf Course Superintendent
Country Club in Huntersville, North Carolina is looking for a 1st Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.

Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Club’s Director of Agronomy, this role will manage a crew of up to 18, including 10 year-round, full-time team members.

Requirements:
Four-year turf or related degree preferred but associate’s degree with appropriate experience will be considered.
NC applicator license required or secured within 6 months of hire.
Four years’ experience as first assistant at a private club or high-end semi-private course.
Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office products.

The ideal candidate will have a blend of knowledge and education combined with comparable experience at private clubs or high-end semi-private courses along with the following qualifications:
Strong desire to become superintendent within 3 to 6 years.
Strong leadership skills, including the ability to manage veteran staffs.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Create and implement annual fertility, herbicide, and fungicide programs for the golf course
Ability to analyze turf for disease or pests and create and implement remediation plan.
Knowledge and experience with course irrigation systems, experience with Rainbird a plus.
Ability to troubleshoot irrigation issues on the course and implement repairs.
Identify and prioritize larger projects and develop and implement action plans.

Compensation:
$60,000 – $70,000 per year.
