2nd Assistant Golf Course Superintendent
Golf Club in Quechee, Vermont is looking for a 2nd Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.

Position Overview:
The position plays a key role in our day-to-day operations and it provides an excellent opportunity to develop solid agronomic and personnel management skills that are key to advancing a career towards becoming a Golf Course Superintendent. The position is a working supervisory position and successful candidates will be required to obtain a Vermont state pesticide applicator license and will be deeply involved in our fertilizer & pesticide application programs. The 2nd assistant works closely with the 1st Assistants and Golf Course Superintendent on crew supervision & scheduling along with being a key participant in our training programs for new golf course maintenance employees. The position is a full-time year-round benefit-eligible position with winter duties and responsibilities in our winter downhill & x/c skiing operations. Involved in every aspect of golf course maintenance including course set-up, scouting, agronomic planning, sprayer calibration and operation, record keeping, construction & landscape projects, irrigation maintenance & operation, along with exposure to the budgeting process.

Current enrollment or a recent graduate of an accredited Golf Course management program or commensurate previous experience and ability to obtain a Vermont state pesticide applicator license within the first 3 months.
Previous supervisory experience is helpful but not mandatory.
Previous experience with various golf course maintenance equipment operations is helpful to be able to train others on proper equipment operation.
Knowledge of irrigation system operations & repairs is also helpful along with sprayer operations.

Compensation:
$25 – $27 per hour.
