1st Assistant Golf Professional
Resort in Verona, New York is looking for a 1st Assistant Golf Professional.

Position Overview:
Essential Responsibilities:
• Assists the Head Golf Pro in the management of daily golf operations. Monitors play and enforce all rules and regulations governing the use of the courses and practice facility.
• Facilitates the guest check-in process and reservation system.
• Supervises outside services and pro shop staff; assists with training and scheduling of staff.
• Assists with the purchase, display, promotion, and sales of golf store/pro shop merchandise.
• Ensures that all audit exceptions are handled in a timely manner and ensures staff is coached on how to prevent future audits.
• Provides supervision and guidance to pro shop staff. Trains all new Pro Shop Attendants and ensures they are proficient in their responsibilities.
• Opens and closes the pro shop while adhering to the opening/closing checklist to ensure that all tasks are completed.
• Works with staff in all areas and positions daily to train and maintain service expectations.
• Visits each outlet daily to meet with staff and perform quality control checks on every aspect of the operation.
• Works closely with Player Assistants and Golf Services Attendants to help ensure an efficient player registration process and proper pace of play.
• Communicates effectively with teaching and professional staff to ensure prompt service to guests requiring technical assistance or lessons.
• Maintains strong knowledge of pro shop merchandise and assists with inventory, restocking, and designing golf displays.
• Routinely inspects all guest areas (locker rooms, lobby, patio, etc) to ensure that each area is clean and organized.
• Assists with the coordination of tournaments and events.
• Provides support to the operation of the Golf Dome and Golf Academy.
• Provides individual and group golf lessons.
• Provides guests with custom golf club-fitting services utilizing state-of-the-art club-fitting technology.
• Liaisons with tournament sponsors, officials, or other relevant organizations when hosting events.
• Works closely with other resort departments such as Sales, Marketing, Hotel, and Food & Beverage to ensure the best possible golf experience for guests.
• Creates, prepares, and analyzes various reports on golf operations and assists with planning and budgeting.
• Attends golf trade shows and assists in other marketing and promotional activities.
• Ensures that all audit exceptions are handled in a timely manner by pro shop staff.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Must be a full PGA member or registered apprentice in good standing with the PGA of America.
An Associate’s Degree in a related field is preferred.
Knowledge and experience in the use of club-fitting and golf swing analysis technology.
Must have experience and/or the ability to be trained in golf operations.
Experience in managing all aspects of golf tournaments.
Excellent guest service, oral and written communication, and organizational skills with the ability to keep accurate records.
Must be available to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
A valid driver’s license is required.

Compensation:
$48,000.00 – $54,000.00 per year.
