Assistant Golf Course Superintendent
Golf Course in Carson City, Nevada is looking for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.

Position Overview:
The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent (AGCS) will join our management team and play an integral role in the success of the golf course maintenance department. The AGCS, under the supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent, directs and participates in the daily maintenance of the golf course, and assists with the planning, coordination, and execution of the golf maintenance program. Job Duties Include but are not limited to:
• Assists with the planning and implementation of agronomic practices.
• Assists with personnel management, evaluation, employee safety, and disciplinary action as needed.
• Coordinates daily maintenance practices, crew assignments, scheduling, supervises and trains employees on tasks and proper use of equipment.
• Leads project work and participates in course renovations.
• Conducts pesticide and fertilizer applications, calibration, and record keeping.
• Operates equipment when necessary.
• Contributes to the maintenance of the irrigation system and coordinates repairs in conjunction with the Irrigation Technician.
• Monitors water quality and assists with pumpstation/s and fertigation monitoring
• Aids in the develop and implementation of cultural practices.
• Conducts safety meetings with staff and monitors working conditions.
• Coordinates snow removal and winter maintenance activities during the offseason.
• Must be flexible during the golf season and work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
A 2 or 4-year degree or certificate in Agronomy, Turfgrass Management, Horticulture, or related field.
2-3 years golf course experience, preferably in a supervisory role.
Advanced knowledge of agronomy and cool season turf grass management practices
Experience in golf course construction techniques.
Understanding of computerized irrigation systems and pump stations.
Knowledge of current federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to the management of a golf course.
Advanced knowledge of agronomy and turfgrass management practices and a thorough understanding of the rules and strategies of the game of golf.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
High degree of administrative and leadership ability.
Valued expert expected to deliver high quality, accurate results, while efficiently maintaining and enhancing existing organizational systems and standards.
Administrative and leadership ability, especially in terms of problem solving and decision-making.
Collaborative leadership focused on efficient, accurate, quality work output. Delivers a fun, educational and empowered work environment for team members.
Able to work over 40 hours a week and embrace a busy seasonal schedule.
Ability to work any day of the week, including Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.

Compensation:
$65,000 – $75,000 per year.
