1st Assistant Golf Professional
Golf Club in Aspen, Colorado is looking for a 1st Assistant Golf Professional.

Position Overview:
Responsible for co-managing the daily operations and the coordination of specific parts of the golf operations including but not limited to: Tee Sheet Management, Guest Services, Tournaments/Group Outings, Golf Leagues, Staff Management, Retail Operations, Golf Simulator. Position oversees the following positions: Guest Services, Bag Drop, Starters/Rangers, Outside Manager, Assistant Golf Professionals. This position works under the supervision of the Head Golf Professional. This position oversees the scheduling and task assignments of the Golf Shop staff in coordination with the Golf Shop Manager.

Customer Service Functions:
• Works with fellow golf staff in a team approach for an effective, professional, and fun atmosphere.
• Creates and fosters a high degree of customer service and professionalism in the workplace and trains staff by leading by example.

Core Responsibilities:
• Assists with the tasks and management of the daily opening and closing of the pro-shop, collection of greens fees, rental of carts and clubs, sale of range balls and of pro-shop merchandise.
• Assists the Head Golf Professional with ordering, receiving, and displaying all purchase orders in accordance with City policies and procedures.
• Assists with inventory control and management of golf shop staff.
• Assists in the administration, scheduling and communication of tournaments, high school teams, club events, group outings, city events, and course maintenance.
• Oversees and assists the Aspen Women’s Golf Association with all events and activities as directed by the Head Golf Professional.
• Assists the Head Professional with management of the Aspen Men’s Golf Association.
• Assists the teaching professionals with reservations, promotions, and collection of payment.
• Able to instruct group and individual lessons when requested by clients or fellow teaching professionals.
• Assist with course marking for events and daily play.
• Assist with the management, record-keeping and maintenance of the golf cart fleet.
• Assist with the coordination of the management, rotation and presentation of the practice facilities.

Requirements:
Maintain Class “A” Golf Professional in good standing or be currently enrolled in the PGA or LPGA Program.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Three (3) years’ experience in the golf industry.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Email. With minimal training, this position requires an understanding of Lightspeed POS & Tee Sheet systems. Proficient with the most updated version of Colorado’s golf handicap software.
Must possess first aid and CPR certification or be able to obtain within six months of hire.
Must possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License or be able to obtain one within 30 days of start date if it is determined the position requires one.
Must be able to maintain no more than a 10 handicap
Knowledgeable with the rules of golf
Basic understanding and ability to perform basic club repair including: Regripping, Shaft adjustments, and Golf Club Head attachment
CPR/First Aid Certification preferred.

Compensation:
$28.65 – $34.38 per hour.
