1st Assistant Golf Professional
Country Club in Kearney, Nebraska is looking for a 1st Assistant Golf Professional.

Position Overview:
Provide support for the Golf Operation in the management of day-to-day golf operations of the facility. All duties of the position shall be performed with a commitment to the highest level of member and guest service with a focus on total customer satisfaction. This position is designed to provide the necessary exposure, experience, and preparation for this individual to pursue a Head Golf Professional position. This position is year-round with off-season hours being split with the Golf Shop and other club departments.

The 1st Assistant Golf Professional’s job duties include but are not limited to:
• Assist with golfer check-in and fee collection; control and manage play.
• Assist with all opening and closing procedures.
• Manage facility tournament operation including weekly events/Leagues.
• Assist with tournament event planning, pre-tournament contracts, promotion, course set-up, tournament billing, scoring, prize distribution and follow-up.
• Conduct individual lessons and group clinics.
• Responsible with weekly leagues (Men’s and Ladies).
• Responsible for leading junior golf programs.
• Create player development programs using various tools.
• Assist outside service staff to ensure the highest quality of member service.
• Assist golf car operation, practice facility and club storage service.
• Provide club repair and club fitting services in a supporting role to the Club Specialist.
• Responsible for timely and consistently maintaining the club’s USGA Handicap System.
• Assist in the inventory control of hard goods, soft goods, and special orders including; ordering procedures, receiving procedures, inputting into point of sale, pricing procedures, displays and sales.
• Play golf with a variety of members in competitive and non-competitive situations.
• Conduct oneself in a professional manner and maintain a professional image at all times.

Golf Shop Operations
• Open/Close procedures are followed.
• Assist with all counter duties.
• Manage tee sheet to optimize course usage.
• Communicate with outside service and starter/ranger with updates and information.
• Maintain a spotless golf shop.
• Keep golf shop open from the time agreed upon with management.
• Monitor and follow-up on all special orders to be sure they are completed.
• Monitor and maintain merchandise at a reasonable level, i.e. golf balls, gloves, tee supplies.
• See that all daily business is delivered to the GM’s Office at conclusion of days business.

Tournament Operations
• When necessary, meet with the appropriate Tournament Committee Chairperson for the purpose of preparing and planning the details of golf events in writing.
• For individually assigned tournaments, create and post tournament sign-up information, continue to monitor sign-up, and make adjustments as needed.
• Contact Superintendent to finalize tournament setup and special needs.
• Make pairings, starting times/hole assignments, cart signs.
• Post pairings to the Tee Time System and manage any additions / cancellations.
• Distribute pairings and hole assignments to outside staff and F&B for preparations.
• Prepare tournament announcements, format sheets, rule sheet, scorecards, hole location sheet and scoreboard.
• Monitor pace of play during competition and be available for any rules decisions
• Record scores as they come in; post all scores to the GHIN system.
• Determine winners and post results.
• Charges all participants and post credit book for all winners.
Teaching.
• Enthusiastically promote the game of golf to the membership.
• When schedule permits, provide knowledgeable and enthusiastic golf instruction to members via private lessons and clinics.
• Use and include various methods, mediums and technology during lessons.
• Provide one-on-one time and attention prior to all Club events or provide mini-clinics prior to selected shotgun start events.
• Foster growth in teaching through section affiliated education seminars and written publications.
• Be knowledgeable and confident in fitting the membership for golf equipment.
• Keep accurate records of lesson and fitting information.

Requirements:
Class “A” PGA Member in Good Standing preferred.
Valid State issued driver’s license.
Meet all Federal and State Employment Eligibility guidelines.
Must be able to stand on their feet for extended periods of time.
Must be able to lift and/or carry items that are at heavy (30 lbs plus).

Compensation:
$32,000.00 – $35,000.00 per year.
