Summer Golf Course Intern
Country Club in Vestavia Hills, Alabama is looking for a Summer Golf Course Intern.

Position Overview:
In addition to normal maintenance tasks, the interns will be trained on a new turf management practice each week, including but not limited to:
• Working closely with Director of Golf Course & Grounds, Superintendent, and Assistant Superintendent.
• Course set up including: greens mowing, fairway mowing, tee and approach mowing, greens rolling, changing hole locations, marking course.
• Greens aeration and organic matter management.
• Sprayer and fertilizer calibration and application.
• Weed, disease, and insect identification and management.
• Greens moisture management.
• Data analysis and interpretation.
• Fertility and soil testing.
• Irrigation management, working with Rainbird IC system and Toro satellite system, both HDPE and PVC pipe.
• Mower set-up and equipment maintenance with equipment manager.
• Exposure to horticulture techniques and practices around clubhouse grounds.
• Work with new technologies in golf maintenance management including: Task Tracker, Playbooks, and ezLocator.

Requirements:
Pursuing a degree in Turfgrass Management or similar field.

Compensation:
$14 per hour.
