Director of Golf
Golf Club in West Dundee, Illinois is looking for a Director of Golf.

Position Overview:
The Director of Golf Operations works under the administrative direction of the Executive Director. The Director of Golf Operations plans, coordinates and directs the comprehensive golf operations, which includes directing the operations of the pro shop, driving range, golf cars and golf course. Handling personnel matters, ordering and pricing pro shop merchandise and restaurant and bar operations, monitoring leagues, permanent tee times, outings, group and junior golf lessons, maintaining inside appearance of both clubs are integral responsibilities of the position. This position ensures enforcement of Dundee Township Park District policies and procedures in regards to golf operations.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Supervise daily operations of both golf course facilities, tee times, booking of group outings, daily cash register receipts, buying and selling of retail merchandise and coordinating the players handicap service.
• Schedule, supervise and evaluate all support staff including full-time golf professionals, building custodians, clerical staff and all part-time staff.
• Order and price pro shop merchandise.
• Organizes, recruits and evaluates permanent tee time systems for both golf courses.
• Schedules, organizes and implements special events for all leagues.
• Establish an event tournament program sponsored by each golf course.
• Oversees and supervises the daily operation of the Bonnie Dundee and Randall Oaks restaurant and bar.
• Oversee the lessee’s operation of the Randall Oaks banquet side of the clubhouse.
• Help monitor proper ordering and inventory control to reduce spoilage and waste.
• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing the Park District’s policies and procedures at both golf courses.
• Establish golf public relations with golf course employees, Park District employees, vendors and golfers.
• Constantly work on improving club/s image through marketing, public relations and events.
• Develop a program for junior golfers to promote, learn and continue to play golf.
• Understand and implement safety procedures and correct any hazards for both employees and the general public.
• Develop, implement and stay within the constraints of an operational budget.
• Continue education through seminars and conferences offered through the PGA of America.
• Complete any special projects assigned by the Executive Director.
• Responsible for complying with all safety and loss prevention policies. Must ensure that all responsibilities and use of equipment is performed in a safe, prudent manner. Must always utilize required Personal Protective Equipment. Inform supervisor of any unsafe conditions or hazardous work procedures. Correct any unsafe conditions, if possible, and instruct co-workers on safety

Requirements:
Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of four years of college with major course in Business Administration or a related field.
Under unusual circumstances, extensive experience in the management of golf course operations may be substituted for all or part of the educational requirements.
PGA member in good standing is required.
Requires five years management in a golf operations environment or related field. Requires thorough knowledge of all applicable federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations governing operations.
Requires extensive knowledge of rules, regulations and techniques of golf.
Requires extensive knowledge of Business Management philosophy, practices and procedures.
Requires sound public relations, theory and practices.
Requires working knowledge of administrative methods and practices.
Requires knowledge of budget preparation techniques.

Compensation:
$81,000.00 – $103,000.00 per year.
