Director of Golf
Golf club in Wolcott, Colorado is looking for a Director of Golf.

Position Overview:
The GM/Director of Golf will lead the total golf operation and services offered including the golf shop, practice facility, golf services areas, golf car operation including supervision of the head golf professionals as well as golf maintenance. This position supports the members and resort guests by providing an exceptional golf experience, excellent services and programs for all patrons. The ideal candidate demonstrates a welcoming, and outgoing personality coupled with a collaborative management style, will formulate respectful and mutually beneficial relationships with members, community, and staff; will have strong anticipatory and problem-solving skills, and be an excellent communicator. The Club is looking for a candidate who will help define the long-term strategic vision for the club, the growth of the membership, and the club’s impact on the surrounding community.

Duties:
• Responsible for entire Golf Operations P&L and will be the Member & Public-Facing Leader of the Club.
• Develop and nurture a productive supervisory relationship with the Director of Golf Course Maintenance.
• Lead, develop and grow the golf operations team and ensure high standards and total customer satisfaction.
• Establish golf operations policies and procedures in coordination with company and industry best practices.
• Lead the Head Golf Professional(s) and ensure PGA guidelines are met.
• Schedule and chair regular staff meetings focused on members of the Red Sky Golf Club and public customers, operations, revenue growth, cost containment, and continuous improvement.
• Attend corporate/staff/public meetings representing the facility.
• Develop/coordinate annual business plans for the operation.
• Coordinate and communicate clearly written correspondence, reporting, and newsletters.
• Coordinate plans with the General Manager of Food and Beverage for all food and beverage needs, on-course food and beverage needs, banquets, outside events, and catering for all golf functions.
• Develop and oversee an innovative tournament schedule, travel, and golf activities program that services all member & guest segments.
• Oversee golf instruction, clinics, golf schools, and player development programs for all member and guest segments.
• Oversee a profitable merchandise concession that is consistent with member/guest demographics and needs.
• Partner with marketing and member sales on golf-specific initiatives including all promotional materials play recruitment, yield management, golf packages, and outside events plus the promotion of new golf memberships.
• Drive fiscal performance for the operation including planning, budgeting, forecasting, monitoring, and correction.
• Establish sales goals and forecasts for all programs and services; generate, monitor, and analyze reports.
• Play golf & provide instruction for members/guests of all skill levels.

Requirements:
A degree from a 4-year college or university is preferred, however, a high school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
3-5 years as a Director of Golf or Head Professional at a high-end private club or resort.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Passionate about building a highly functional golf operations team and providing an exceptional experience for all members and guests.
Ability to work independently while also being able to lead, develop, motivate and inspire others.
Promotes and demonstrates trust, reliability, and character consistently in all activities at the club and the community.
Minimum 4 years supervisory experience of a staff of 20 or more.
Member of the PGA in good standing.

A skilled player/instructor to meet member demands.
Thorough understanding and related experience in the private golf and hospitality industry.
Collaborative, empathetic relationship-building capabilities with organizational peers.

Demonstrated professional successes in the areas of: – Golf Operations, including policy, procedure, and program development. – Financial Management, including budget and P&L responsibility. – Human Resource Management, demonstrated management experience. – Strong Organizational, Planning, and Prioritization skills. – Service and customer-focused attitude. – Project Management. – Information Technology, advanced computer skills as it relates to financial and operating reporting, and understanding.

Compensation:
$140,000 – $160,000 per year.
