Golf Shop Manager
Golf Club in Linville, North Carolina is looking for a Golf Shop Manager.

Position Overview:
The chosen candidate will be a working manager and integral member of the golf shop staff, unafraid of dirty hands. The Golf Shop Manager will report directly to the Golf Operations Manager with ultimate responsibility to the General Manager.

Essential Responsibilities
• Knowledge of golf shop operations including, but not limited to: developing rates, marketing, purchasing, sales & merchandising, golf cart fleet management & simple maintenance, and simple repairs of golf clubs.
• Ability to use diplomacy, tact, and good judgment when dealing with LLH golf members, residents, and outside customers.
• Ability to foster teamwork with the Golf Course Supt. and his staff to ensure a tee sheet schedule that is mutually acceptable and ensures the turf care team has ample time to complete critical maintenance activities ahead of the day’s play.
• Strong organizational skills along with ability to plan activities on a daily and long-term basis.
• Capable of establishing priorities, working independently, and proceeding with objectives with little supervision.
• Have a working knowledge of handicapping, GHIN, and the World Handicap System.
• Have a working knowledge of USGA Admin portal and TM Club/Golf Genius tournament software.
• Must be physically able to lift packages up to 50 lbs.
• Hire, schedule and supervise golf shop staff engendering a positive, customer friendly atmosphere which is focused on customer service.
• Order merchandise and arrange displays of merchandise; record and track golf shop inventory.
• Responsible for learning and operating any point-of-sale (POS) software and tee time management system (currently Club Prophet). Train employees to operate such software/systems.
• Perform golf-related customer service duties such as: taking tee times, signing in customers, assigning golf carts, explaining course rules, and scheduling walk-in customers.
• Assist managers of organized play leagues with reserving tee times, scheduling, and questions about Golf Genius.
• Secures golf shop, receipts and cash at end of day.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements:
Degree or coursework from an accredited golf program or academy or;
Associates degree(s) in business, accounting, sales, and/or management or;
Two years documented, golf related experience or;
An acceptable, equivalent combination of the criteria above.

Compensation:
$15.00 – $18.00 per hour.
