Assistant Golf Course Superintendent
Golf Course in Noblesville, Indiana is looking for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.

Position Overview:
Responsible for assisting in managing operations of assigned golf course.

Essential Job Functions:
• Assists in supervising and directing temporary personnel, including scheduling and monitoring work assignments, providing training and corrective instruction, and maintaining discipline.
• Performs duties of Golf Course Superintendent in his/her absence.
• Regularly performs duties of Maintenance Laborer/Golf, including mowing grounds and assisting in maintaining equipment.
• Sprays/applies pesticides to grounds as recommended by Superintendent.
• Oversees maintenance and repair of irrigation system, including inspecting regularly for proper operation and leaks, and making or monitoring repair of piping, wiring and controls as needed.
• Maintains current knowledge of golf course management by occasionally attending training seminars and conferences.
• Serves on 24-hour call for emergencies.

Requirements:
High school diploma or GED and at least one year of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Possession of or ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certifications and Indiana chemical applicator technician license within specified time period.
Thorough knowledge of and ability to make practical application of standard principles and practices of golf course management and agronomy, and ability to properly operate grounds maintenance equipment. such as mowers, tractors, reel grinder, and computerized irrigation system.
Working knowledge of the City of Noblesville Civilian Employee Personnel Policy Handbook and the ability to apply these regulations/standards to employment.
Working knowledge of standard English grammar, spelling and punctuation, and ability to type with speed and accuracy and properly operate a variety of standard office equipment, including computer, printer, and calculator. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
Ability to assist in supervising and directing assigned personnel, including scheduling and monitoring work assignments, providing training and corrective instruction, and maintaining discipline.
Ability to physically perform the essential duties of the position, including walking on uneven terrain, lifting/carrying objects weighing 25 to 50 pounds, crouching/kneeling, bending, reaching, close/far vision, hearing sounds/communication.
Working knowledge of universal health precautions and City’s Bloodborne Pathogens Control Plan, and ability to apply such knowledge on the job to protect oneself from infection.
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with co-workers and golf course patrons, including being sensitive to professional ethics, gender, cultural diversities and disabilities.
Ability to work alone and with others in a team environment with minimum supervision.
Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions, and read and interpret detailed prints, sketches and specifications.
Ability to serve on 24-hour call for emergencies.
Ability to regularly work extended and weekend hours, occasionally work evening hours, and occasionally travel out of town for training, sometimes overnight.
Possession of a valid Indiana driver’s license, a demonstrated safe driving record, and must remain insurable through the City of Noblesville’s liability insurance carrier. (Refer to the Civilian Personnel Policy for additional information.)

Compensation:
$23.72 – $26.36 per hour.
