Parks in Littleton, Colorado is looking for a Head Golf Professional.

Position Overview:
Under the supervision of the Director of Golf, this position is responsible for all operations and management of the golf course facility including but not limited to the pro shop, bar and restaurant, grounds, and facility events.

Essential Duties:
• Hires, trains, schedules, supervises and evaluates personnel; provides or coordinates staff training; works with employees to correct deficiencies.
• Supervises and provides leadership for golf course maintenance superintendent. Review financial reports, staffing levels, maintenance standards, and daily operation of golf course. Coordinates maintenance functions with golf course operations use.
• Plans and organizes operation of the golf course and driving range in terms of but not limited to programming, fee collection, tournaments, lesson programs, junior golf, women’s club, men’s club and cart rentals, etc.
• Schedules staff for facilities and creates and maintains scheduled hours of operation.
• Supervises, trains, and evaluates the professional staff in the implementation of group and private lessons. Coordinates District lesson programs, junior golf programs, and private lesson programs.
• Supervises the facility bar and restaurant and oversees its operations (Lone Tree Golf Course and South Suburban Golf Course only). Reviews financial reports, staffing levels, inventory, sales and services with the direct supervisor of the bar and restaurant. Provides operational leadership and direction to the Grill Supervisor.
• Develops, implements, and tracks results of all marketing strategies to ensure the utilization; notifies the public of District events. Promotes a positive image to the public. Participates in community planning and organizational meetings.
• Determines community needs by evaluating programs and activities; makes recommendations for improvement and future development, and implements changes.
• Coordinates men’s, women’s, and junior golf clubs. Schedules use of golf course for outside tournaments.
• Maintains records and makes periodic reports as directed, including attendance reports, program reports, accident reports, and personnel evaluations.
• Prepares and monitors budget, manages revenues and expenditures and prepares financial reports. Negotiates concession contracts. Prepares purchase orders, RFP’s, and invoice requests. Prepares short and long-range revenue/expenditure projections, checks revenue streams, etc. Develops and implements strategies to increase usage of assigned areas. Calculates program fees to meet cost-recovery goals. Formulates comprehensive business plans by researching and analyzing market information which is essential.
• Manages and oversees operation of the pro shop as a revenue producing part of the facility. Collects all money at the golf shop and insures that money is handled according to District policy.
• Maintains accurate inventories for pro shop, golf facility and equipment. Assists with purchase of supplies and equipment for the facilities and programs according to District policies.
• Inspects and supervises the golf facility and programs under his/her supervision to determine adequacy and adherence to generally recognized standards which includes the areas of leadership, program content, cleanliness, and general appearance of the facility.
• Insures general security at the facility and programs under their supervision, including proper control and issuance of keys.
• Initiates, develops, and maintains a safety program for the facility and programs with an emphasis on emergency first aid procedures and treatments. Attends Department staff meetings. Communicates and coordinates activities within the Department.
• Communicates with restaurant operations and golf maintenance staff to insure coordination and cooperation among the Departments.
• Prepares, enforces, maintains and modifies policies and procedures manuals; conducts periodic staff meetings to provide and gather information, answers questions and responds to complaints and concerns, both internally and externally.
• Works with the Director of Golf to create and implement golf course and staff policies.
• Develops and maintains relationships with District employees, vendors, and various outside user groups to coordinate their programs and special events.
• Attends and participate in professional group meetings; stay abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of golf.
• Attend and participate in staff meetings, trainings, and orientations.
• Attends work on a regular, reliable and punctual basis.

Requirements:
Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor degree in Golf Management or related field is preferred.
Minimum four (4) years’ experience working in golf course operations with a minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience.
A combination of experience and education may be considered.
Member in good standing of PGA or LPGA of America.
Must possess a valid Colorado Driver License or the ability to obtain upon hire and maintain an acceptable driving record.
Knowledge of all aspects of a golf course operations, emergency first-aid procedures and basic principles of customer service.
Skilled in: training, communications, and the use of a computer and related golf equipment.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Solid communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to provide customer service, information, and feedback to the public.
Skills in recruiting, supervising, training, monitoring, evaluating and motivating personnel.
Ability to understand verbal information and instruction and the ability to exchange information with others and to develop and present recommendations.
Ability to read and understand written information and to compose information and instruction in written form.
Ability to handle cash flow with accuracy and proper handling in adherence to established procedures.
Ability to investigate and resolve complaints concerning programs and the facility.
Ability to effectively manage and prioritize situations and goals to maximize available resources and problem solving skills in order to analyze complex problems and implement appropriate corrective actions.
Must be highly motivated and take direction well with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbally.
Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
Ability to provide outstanding customer service and get along with coworkers, patrons, and supervisors and interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner.

Compensation:
$64,700 – $82,550 per year.
