Full-time Director of Golf
Golf facility in Sea Island, Georgia is looking for a Full-time Director of Golf.

Position Overview:
Responsible for the overall operation of all golf along with working with other department heads to ensure that the experience for members and their guest’s are unparalleled. Work involves independent decisions requiring technical knowledge, sound judgment and familiarity commensurate with the finest private club industry standards while upholding and ensuring compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures.

Tasks/Responsibilities:
• Work with other department heads to establish, maintain, and be responsible for budget and/or forecasting as necessary.
• Work with other department heads, including agronomy and clubhouse operations, to ensure the highest private club experience is being produced.
• Demonstrate fiscal responsibility by providing reporting as necessary on profit loss statements.
• Assist Retail team in displaying golf shop merchandise.
• Monitor overall inventory levels of merchandise, restock when needed.
• Assist with physical inventories.
• Train and oversee all staff interactions with selling merchandise and customer service.
• Train and oversee staff that perform such services such as club fitting, repair, re-gripping as well as the special order for merchandise.
• Train and oversee staff on operation of point of sale system to record sales, guest fees, caddie fees.
• Document and train staff on procedures for recording of daily sales and rounds played into excel documents.
• Learn the names and personally recognize our regular guests and members.
• Answer any questions guests may have about Sea Island, Ocean Forest, or the area to the best of one’s ability.
• Supervise and maintain the scheduling of tee times.
• Oversee and train Outside Service Staff – emphasizing the importance of member and guest service.
• Provide quality individual and group instruction to membership.
• Observe Sea Island Instructional staff as scheduled.
• Oversee the Caddie Program and work with Caddie Master and staff to insure proper billing procedures.
• Communicate needs and provide feedback to Caddie Master.
• Develop, oversee, and train all staff on all tournament operations.
• Play with members and guests while improving your own game.
• Oversee the teaching of all golf lessons or clinics.
• Fulfill PGA Member Service Requirement (MSR) to maintain a class “A” standing
• Maintain a thorough knowledge of current guest services, activities, dining options, shops, local attractions, and historical information regarding Sea Island and the surrounding area to answer any questions guests may have to the best of one’s ability.
• If applicable, complete a Guest Problem Resolutions (GPR) form on any issues (solved or unsolved issues) and follow-up on issues as needed (if computer access is not available give information to admin support).
• Maintains cleanliness and organization in all work areas.
• Uphold appropriate departmental standards of quality/timing.
• Uphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures.
• Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures to supervisor immediately.
• Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.
• Willing and timely execution of other duties as delegated by leadership.

Requirements:
Minimum of three (3) years working in golf industry/private golf club experience as a Head Golf Professional or Director of Golf
Highly proficient knowledge of: daily golf course operations and procedures, USGA rules, handicap, course rating system, mechanics and techniques of golf swing, and general game of golf
Class A PGA Membership
Knowledgeable of planning and budgeting
College degree preferred
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Proficient in Windows XP and Microsoft Office software applications such as: Word, Excel and Outlook.
Valid Georgia driver’s license.
Must have a favorable driving history.
Company policy requires that one must be 21 years of ago or older to drive a company vehicle and pass a yearly Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) review.

If applicable, must be flexible to working days, early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Report to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and in compliance with company Dress Code Policy.
