Full-time Head Golf Coach
University in San Antonio, Texas is looking for a Full-time Head Golf Coach.

Position Overview:
The Golf Coach is responsible for assisting in planning and administering all aspects of the Golf Program, including working collaboratively with institutional advancement to promote and secure sponsorships and teams for the golf tournament athletic department fundraiser, as well as other duties as assigned. Under the direction of the Athletic Directors, the Golf Coach should model and maintain an exemplary student-athlete concept and the personal development of a student athlete who’s on and off the course behavior reflects favorably upon the school community in general and the athletics program in particular.

Essential Functions:
1. Work collaboratively and collectively with Institutional Advancement to plan, promote, secure sponsorships, and draw in teams for the golf tournament & athletic department fundraiser.
2. Establish annual goals for the program and implement an approved plan to achieve the stated goals.
3. Handle all aspects of budget preparation and management for the program.
4. Work with admissions to enroll student athletes, monitor academic progress, and support pursuit of graduation.
5. Coordinate an effective program of recruiting, retaining, and graduating highly skilled student athletes.
6. Coordinate the golf program in balance with the student-athlete’s academic, athletic and social development with the focus of attention on the well-being of the student athlete.
7. Expand and coach the golf program to encompass a men and women’s team.
8. Assume responsibility for the annual scheduling of competitive matches and the corresponding travel arrangements.
9. Assume full responsibility for all home events.
10. Responsible for raising private funds for the golf program and contributing to the department’s marketing, promotion, public relations and development plan.
11. Arrange for course facilities for practice and competition.
12. Oversee conduct and discipline of student athletes.
13. Drive student athletes or other students to team activities and/or athletic events.
14. Perform other job related duties as assigned.
15. Submits transportation requests and required travel documentation to the Athletic Director as required.
16. Assists in special events and tournaments, championships, fundraisers, and/or clinics to include, but not limited to, major fundraisers, camps, and/or clinics.
17. Subscribes and adheres to the NAIA Coaches Code of Conduct.
18. Subscribes and promotes the NAIA Champions of Character student development.
19. Attend all scheduled meetings.
20. Assist in enrolling student-athletes according to the Admissions policies and standards.
21. Adhere to Residence Life procedures to securing housing accommodations.
22. Communicate effectively with all academic/faculty advisors, financial aid, business office, registrar and other university personnel.

Additional Responsibilities:
1. Serves as liaison for the university community of faculty, staff, students and administrators.
2. Will adhere to university policies, state and federal laws concerning Title IX, HIPPA, and FERPA policies.
3. Contribute and support the university vibrancy initiative.
4. Assist and maintain inventory at the beginning and end of the academic year.
5. Assist Head Coach with conducting business within the limits of the allocated budget.
6. Recruit within the limits of the scholarship budget.
7. Support all athletic department activities and fundraisers.

Requirements:
Master’s degree preferred.
3 years of experience coaching at the collegiate level required.
Ability to successfully recruit, retain and graduate highly skilled student athletes for the intercollegiate golf program.
Ability to effectively coach collegiate golf.
Ability to relate to student-athletes, colleagues, administrators, faculty and parents.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to work a flexible schedule with some erratic work hours to meet the needs of the student-athletes and the competitive schedule.
Ability to drive student athletes or other students to team activities and/or athletic events.
Ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
Ability to efficiently plan and request items and services in a timely manner and through approved university processes.
