Part-time Golf Coach
School district in Sugar Land, Texas is looking for a Part-time Golf Coach.

Position Overview:
The Teacher, Golf Coach will plan and implement an instructional program and provide related educational services for students in assigned grade levels. Manage student behavior, assess and evaluate student achievement, and modify instructional activities as required; carry out a variety of student monitoring and controls activities.

Duties:
1. Assess student abilities as related to desired educational goals, objectives, and outcomes. Continually assess student achievement and maintain appropriate assessment and evaluation documentation.
2. Plan appropriate instructional/learning strategies and activities including determination of appropriate kind and level of materials.
3. Implement an instructional program which provides appropriate learning experiences, considering different learning styles and a range of learning curves.
4. Manage the behavior of learners in instructional setting to ensure environment is conducive to the learning process, and assists and participates in management of student behavior in other parts of the school, center, school grounds, or work site.
5. Coordinate instructional related and testing activities with other professional staff, both school and non-school-based, as required, to maximize learning opportunities.
6. Utilize a variety of instructional materials and available multi-media and computer technology to enhance learning.
7. Work in a self-contained, team, departmental, itinerant capacity, or at field work site, as assigned. As needed, request assistance of and works with resource personnel.
8. Ensure continuous communication with parents, both written and oral, to keep them informed of student(s) progress.
9. Continually communicate with students on instructional expectations and keeps them informed of their progress in meeting those expectations.
10. Manage allotted learning time to maximize student achievement.
11. May assign work to and supervise instructional assistants, parent, and student volunteers.
12. Ensure classroom and/or instructional environment is attractive, healthful, safe, and conducive to learning and that materials are assessable to students and in good condition.
13. May, as itinerant, serve at two or more schools on a regular basis. May make off-school site visits to monitor students, confer with employers, or site instructors.
14. Support or participate in school wide student activities and social events and approved fund raising activities.
15. As assigned or required, monitor student behavior in non-instructional areas and intervenes to control and modify disruptive behavior, reporting to appropriate administrator as appropriate.
16. From time-to-time, collaborate with other professionals (guidance counselors, librarians) to carry out school wide instructional or related activities.
17. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
A Bachelor’s Degree in education including course work in the subject/program to which assigned and in curriculum and instructional methodology; Master’s Degree preferred.
Minimum 20 years coaching experience.
Appropriate teaching certification issued by Texas Education Agency.
Good knowledge of FBISD program of studies related to assignments and public school mission, goals, and organization.
Good knowledge of content, curriculum, methods, materials, and equipment of instructional specialty(ies) to which assigned.
Good knowledge of adolescent growth and development or, if applicable, adult learning theory.
Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional programs. Ability to plan and implement lessons based on division and school objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, and parents.
Skill in oral and written communication; excellent human relations skills.
