Full-time Men’s & Women’s Golf Head Coach
Liberal arts college in Hastings, Nebraska is looking for a Full-time Men’s & Women’s Golf Head Coach.

Position Overview:
The head coach is responsible for all phases of the men’s and women’s golf program. This is a full time, 10-month contract position. Responsible for recruiting, retention and success of student athletes in their program. Directing, manage and supervise their program at the college. Accountable for fiscal integrity, fundraising, and the overall success of the athletes and their program. Promote a positive image for the college, program, and department at all times.

Recruitment of Student Athletes, including but not limited to:
• Scout, research, recruit and sign student athletes to the program.
• Work to retain student athletes within their program and in school.
• Develop a high quality experience to be delivered to the student athlete.
• Promote excellence of their program and the College at all times.
• Assist student athletes and parents with questions and concerns.

Direct, Manage and Supervise the Intercollegiate Program, including but not limited to:
• Promote positive image of intercollegiate athletic functions.
• Participate in interdepartmental structure.
• Ensure all Defibrillators are placed correctly and are certified and in proper working order.
• Serve as liaison between program and other departments.
• Promote growth and continuing education of all department employees.
• Preparation for their program events.
• Comprehensive scheduling with assistance of supervisor.
• Work with equipment manager with the inventory of all equipment for their program.

Provide Leadership for Assistant Coaches and Represent the Interests of the Student Athletes, including but not limited to:
• Confirm all staff, including self, maintains CPR and defibrillator certification and necessary training in life saving techniques to ensure safety of student athletes.
• Enhance and monitor the educational opportunities for student-athletes in their program.
• Develop, monitor, and evaluate their program.
• Conduct appropriate meetings with staff, student-athletes, and other audiences, as necessary, for effective education of goals.
• Ensure the Assistant Coaches are equipped with the knowledge, preparation and proper objectives to meet and/or exceed the program and departmental goals.

Ensure the Fiscal Integrity of the Program, including but not limited to:
• Prepare and submit budgetary requests
• Monitor expenditure of funds
• Follow procedures for ordering, purchasing, and payment for all equipment, supplies, and travel.

Responsible for Fundraising for the Program and the Department, including but not limited to:
• Help the Advancement Office with fundraisers.
• Responsible for coordination all fundraising events through the Advancement Office.
• Work on developing new ideas for fundraising and present to Advancement Office.

Responsible for Promoting the College through Positive Public Relations, including but not limited to:
• Establish and maintain favorable relationships with local community groups and businesses to foster understanding and solicit support.
• Participate and promote all College events.

Responsible for Developing and Maintaining Professional Growth Plan, including but not limited to:
• Assume responsibility for professional growth and development through memberships and participation in the affair of professional organizations.
• Keep abreast of current topics of related activities, and advise constituencies of its effect.
• Support and promote staff development.
• Become actively involved in community functions.
• Set personal example for values for coaches, staff and student-athletes.

General department duties including, but not limited to:
• Learn to use/operate any new job related programs and equipment. Participate in designated meetings and mandatory training.
• Consistently model a high degree of customer service and student focus. Work collaboratively and support other team members.
• Professionally represent Hastings College at all times.

Bachelor’s degree required.
Masters preferred.
Two to three years of successful experience as a coach in a college atmosphere or related field preferred.
Competency in computer skills is required. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products – specifically, Word, Excel, and Google mail.
Must be able to work with various software programs required in athletics.
Oral and written communication skills.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Commitment to the mission of education in the liberal arts and sciences.
Ability to work effectively with numerous constituencies in the college environment and beyond.
Excellent communication and strategic planning skills.
Good organizational skills.
Personal integrity.
Ability to perform CPR and Defibrillator duties and to keep the certifications current.
Ability to operate computer, printer, copier, fax, and telephone.
Valid Nebraska driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
