Full-time Head Golf Professional
Golf Club in Marshall, Minnesota is looking for a Full-time Head Golf Professional.

Position Overview:
The Golf Professional will be responsible for, tournaments, leagues, golf outings, managing and selling golf shop inventory, teaching lessons, managing golf shop employees, member bag storage, minor golf car maintenance, coordinating events with the clubhouse and grounds committees, maintaining member handicaps, and membership responsibilities. This is a full-time position with emphasis on the course open from March – October. The Golf Professional is responsible for assisting the Superintendent (SI) and the Clubhouse Manager with supervising and overseeing all elements of the Club’s golf related activities resulting in an exceptional overall golf experience for the Club members and guests.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Oversees day-to-day activities in the Pro Shop and bag room area to ensure Club is consistent with its policies.
• Oversees recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of Pro Shop staff.
• Provides quality private lessons, group clinics and a junior lesson program.
• Provides golf instruction for the Club Summer Camp.
• Assists Superintendent with manage all aspects of the golf program, including the upkeep of the cart fleet.
• Provides and interprets golf policies, rules and regulations.
• Provides members with club fitting and golf club repair services.
• Actively devotes time to increasing tournament and event participation.
• Oversees the coordination of tournaments and special events with input from SI and Clubhouse Manager.
• Prepares, updates, and maintains tee sheets for tournament score boards for tournaments and events.
• Coordinates pairings for Tuesday and Thursday Golf Leagues.
• Assists in ensuring website is updated with golf events and promotions.
• Writes golf articles for Club Newsletter and website, as requested.
• Create e-reminders for golf members as needed.
• Perform starter and marshal duties as needed, specifically on league days.
• Maintain an attractive and orderly appearance in and around the pro shop and other golf related areas.
• Devote a reasonable amount of time to play golf with members of all skill levels.
• Maintains playing ability and works to stay competent in all areas of his/her game.
• Interprets and enforces the Club’s rules and regulations and ensures that the Pro Shop staff is familiar with and enforces these rules.
• Ensures that all Pro Shop Staff are presentable.
• Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe work environment, with emphasis on promoting employee health and safety.
• Follows directives and completes assignments with a minimum of supervision.
• Attends and actively participates in regularly scheduled staff meetings.
• Performs all work according to established procedures.
• Works under general supervision and direction of Superintendent. Directs any employment and personnel concerns to the SI and not to any Club Officer, Director, Committee member or member-at-large.
• Avails him/herself, to the best of his/her abilities, to directly assist in the furtherance of the member satisfaction. Always maintains a friendly, hospitable and helpful attitude with all members, quests, and fellow employees.
• Any other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:
Preferred minimum of three (3) years of Head Professional experience with a PGC Certified professional preferred.
High School diploma.
Current PGA Certified Apprentice in good standing with the PGA of America.
Preferred: PGA Certified Professional: Class “A” member in good standing with the PGA of America.

Compensation:
$35,000.00 – $55,000.00 per year.
