Head Women’s Golf Coach
Public university in Fort Collins, Colorado is looking for a Head Women’s Golf Coach.

Position Overview:
This position is responsible for the overall coaching, teaching, administration, planning, management and direction of an NCAA Division I-FBS Women’s Golf program competing as a member of the MW Conference.

Duties:
• Oversee all coaching/teaching functions of the program and establish a philosophy and method of coaching that will result in winning records, conference championships and opportunities for post-season competition.
• Demonstrate a wide variety of ability and knowledge in coaching the sport including pre-season, in-season and off-season programs designed to maximize the athletic and competitive success of student-athletes.
• Provide leadership, development and direction to assistant coaches and staff.
• Evaluate individual strengths and weaknesses of student-athletes; develop strategies to enhance performance.
• Evaluate performance of assistant coach(es) and staff; develop strategies to enhance performance.
• Assume responsibility for the conduct of coaches, players and related staff during practices and games including travel.
• Demonstrate an ability to influence and motivate student-athletes on and off the field.
• Partner w/internal and external entities as necessary to support the total physical, mental and emotional development of student-athletes including nutrition, injury prevention and management, academic success, mental health, life skills, etc.
• Develop and implement appropriate recruiting strategies to research and select a qualified pool of prospective student-athletes including assessing individual talent, academic strengths and character.
• Communicate effectively with prospects, their parents/families, coaches and teachers through a variety of methods.
• Be responsible for effective use of resources and methods in off-campus recruiting as well and official and unofficial visits.
• Support and contribute to the overall public relations efforts of the Athletics Department and the University.
• Perform all media relations responsibilities in a professional and cooperative manner that reflects a positive image for the program, the Department and the University.
• Assume oversight for all budget expenditures, team travel, equipment and uniform needs, etc. as required for the efficient and effective functioning of the program.
• Develop a competitive schedule, working in conjunction with MW as may be required for conference competition.
• Attend meetings as required by the NCAA, MW and University administration
• Assume an active role in all practice and event management issues as necessary and appropriate for the successful conduct of practices and games.
• Conduct summer camps as necessary and desirable for the overall development of the program.
• Be knowledgeable of and fully comply with all appropriate rules and regulations of Colorado State University, the MW Conference and the NCAA.
– Create a culture of compliance within the program and among staff and student-athletes.
– Provide support for the Department’s overall rules education and compliance efforts
– Report any knowledge of rules violations.
– Prepare, record and retain documentation as required.
• Work effectively with a culturally diverse community and advance the Department’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.
• Support and enhance the Department’s commitment to academic success (including APRand Graduation Rates) and character development by reinforcing and supporting the efforts of Student-Athlete Academic Support Services including class attendance, structured study, learning assistance, orientation and life skills programming, student code of conduct, etc.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in HPER, HES, Sports Management, Recreation, Business, Education, Marketing, Kinesiology, Psychology, Communications, Liberal Arts, Sociology or any other field related to duties and responsibilities and/or the mission of higher education.
Previous coaching experience required, preferably at the NCAA level.
NCAA recruiting experience required.
Knowledge of NCAA rules/regulations required, preferably DI.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays and travel.
Must have a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain a driver’s license or access to a licensed driver by the employment start date.
Strong organizational and leadership skills.
Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills.
Proficiency in designing/implementing effective teaching/coaching techniques.
Ability to demonstrate/instruct/coach highly competitive student-athletes.
Computer and social media technology competency.
Strong understanding of academic, admissions and eligibility requirements.
Ability to lead/supervise/evaluate assistant coaches/staff.
Master’s degree preferred.
Head collegiate coaching experience preferred.
Competitive collegiate or professional playing experience preferred.
