Full-time Director of Golf
Private university in Portland, Oregon is looking for a Full-time Director of Golf.

Position Overview:
The Director of Golf must possess knowledge of the sport of golf, expertise in skills related to golf, confidence in developing and implementing competition strategies and experience in recruiting student-athletes whose attitudes and behaviors fit with the mission of the university. The Director of Golf hires and supervises assistant coaches capable of supporting the mission of the position. The ability to develop a positive rapport with students, parents and other professionals in formal and informal settings is essential for successful coaching, teaching and recruiting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Plan and conduct regular practices and prepare strategies for competition.
2. Develop and execute recruiting strategy to best recruit student-athletes who exemplify the CU culture of excellence in competition, classroom and community.
3. Plan and monitor operational budget including development and execution of supplemental fundraising plan. Comply with accounting procedures established by the Chief Financial Officer and Interim Athletic Director.
4. Promote the golf program within the CU community and throughout various public constituencies.
5. Complete essential administrative responsibilities in a timely manner (schedule competitions and events, make arrangements for travel, inventory uniforms, supplies, and equipment on a regular basis, order new uniforms and equipment as needed and within budgetary guidelines) .
6. Develop positive relationships with parents, alumni, donors and sponsors.
7. Cooperate with and assist the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance & Academic Support/SWA in providing rules education to student-athletes.
8. Comply with all NCAA and conference regulations and CU Athletics Department policies and guidelines, including timely documentation of telephone, recruiting, contact and playing & practice logs.
9. Assume a leadership role in appropriate professional conferences, clinics, and institutional meetings.
10. Supervise and mentor assistant coaches, promoting professional development and assuring compliance with NCAA, conference, university and department policies and regulations.
11. Mentor student-athletes during season and out-of-season and meet regularly to monitor individual and team goals.

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
At least five years of coaching experience at the collegiate level.
