Assistant Golf Professional
Country Club in Kansas City, Missouri is looking for an Assistant Golf Professional.

Position Overview:
The Assistant Golf Professional is responsible for providing members and guests outstanding customer service, which meets or exceeds their expectations. The Assistant Golf Professional teaches the membership and is instrumental in coordinating and growing golf programs and the spirit of the game. Additionally, he/she plans and executes golf events and adheres to operating policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Complete the requirements of PGA membership and maintain an active classification in the PGA of America.
• Supervise and manage the total golf operation in a professional and efficient manner in the absence of the Head Golf Professional.
• Execute tournament operating procedure check lists for assigned tournaments.
• Conduct individual and group lesson programs and golf clinics consistent with approved instructional methods, policies and procedures.
• Perform daily operating activities including opening, closing and securing golf shop.
• Interact with members and guest and be fully knowledgeable of golf shop merchandise, participate in selling merchandise and/or provide suggestions to patrons as appropriate to meet their needs.
• Assure the golf shop is clean, presentable and fully stocked to applicable appearance standards.
• Assist in the purchasing, receipt, display, inventory control, promotion and sale of merchandise. Record orders and returns with proper quantities and prices in accordance with operating policies and procedures.
• Control and manage play; ensure guest check-in and fee collection in coordination with the starter.
• Responsible for opening, closing and reconciling cash till for all assigned golf shop shifts.
• Conduct oneself in a professional manor and maintain pleasant and professional telephone etiquette at all times. Schedule tee times and handle customer inquiries and/or complaints in accordance with operating policies and procedures. Ensure all phone calls are handled before the third ring.
• Monitor handicap system and posting of all tournament scores.
• Be informed on and promote club activities and services with-in the golf department and all other departments at the club.
• Be knowledgeable in the U.S.G.A. Rules of Golf and ensure the golf course is properly marked at all times.
• Supervise, schedule, train and evaluate valet and outside service staff, as directed by the Head Golf Professional.
• Perform starter and ranger duties as needed.
• Manage the club repair business and caddie program.
• Perform additional duties as required by the Head Golf Professional, General Manager, or Club President.

Requirements:
BA / BS degree, preferred.
PGA Class A preferred, must be enrolled in PGA/PGM program.
Retailing, marketing, sales and customer service experience, preferred.
Proficiency with computer software including word processing and spreadsheets.
Demonstrated quality written, verbal, interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision; work flexible hours as required including nights/weekends.
Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations.
Must have the ability to read and write (English).
Must have the ability to communicate verbally with staff members and/or customers with or without the use of two-way radios.
Must have the ability to give and/or follow verbal and written instructions.
Must have the ability to supervise subordinates.
Must have the ability to visually inspect all work areas, golf course and grounds.
Must have the ability to give physical demonstrations of the golf swing.
Must have the ability to see players on the golf course, and to follow the flight of golf balls.
Must have the ability to operate vehicles and equipment for several hours at a time.
Must have the ability to perform mathematical calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
Must have the ability to retrieve, read and interpret information from technical sources.
Must have the ability to stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, bend and kneel for up to 5 hours at a time.
Must have the ability to lift up to 150 lbs occasionally, 50 lbs frequently, and 20 lbs constantly.

Compensation:
$28,000.00 – $30,000.00 per year.
Junior golf.
Lessons.
Club repair.
Performance bonus.
