Head Boys Golf Coach
High School in Mill Creek, Washington is looking for a Head Boys Golf Coach.

Position Overview:
Spanish/bilingual applicants encouraged to apply. This position may be held in addition to a classroom teaching or other work assignment. Responsibilities include supervising and coaching a High School girls’ golf program, including providing guidance, instruction and experience to enhance students’ personal, physical and social growth and development.
Serves as Coach for the high school’s girls’ golf program; plans, develops and implements the golf program in accordance with state, school district and league policies and procedures; maintains current knowledge of the sport and golf coaching techniques; establishes goals and objectives for the golf season.
Supervises student eligibility and compliance with all requirements to participate in the sport; checks grades of athletes as required; maintains liaison with teachers on athletes’ academic progress as needed; conducts appropriate meetings with students.
Trains, instructs and supervises students in a variety of golf skills and techniques; teaches rules, conduct and safety; provides a variety of guidance, instruction and experience to enhance students’ personal, physical and social growth and development; may recommend conditioning programs.
Plans and conducts regularly-scheduled practice sessions during golf season; coaches and motivates student participants; provides group and individual skills training; demonstrates and models techniques as appropriate; monitors student participants; checks procedures; communicates with students to enhance safety and performance.
Coaches and supervises athletes during golf games; travels to and from game sites; provides for safety and welfare of participants; maintains injury, team and individual records and other athletic records as appropriate.
Supervises student behavior; corrects behavior and maintains discipline to established policies and procedures. Supervises and assigns assistant golf coaches; conducts coaching meetings; plans, develops and implements season, game and practice strategies and approaches; evaluates and improves golf program.
Coordinates a variety of scheduling in accordance with building policy, such as transportation of athletes, games management, facilitates use and other issues as necessary.
Issues and retrieves athletic equipment; arranges for cleaning, repair, storage and inventory; holds athletes responsible for care and return of district-owned equipment. Supervises and performs a variety of facilities and equipment preparation for practices and games.
Administers golf budget as designates; requisitions and purchases needed equipment and supplies within budget constrains; recommends budget needs; supervises golf fund-raising activities; accounts for funds raised as appropriate; provides a variety of reports as requested.
Promotes positive student, staff, parent and community relations; resolves problems as necessary; secures volunteers as appropriate.
Promotes total sports program with students, administration, staff and the public; recruits participants; provides pertinent and timely game schedules and results to the news media; arranges for golf awards. Attends a variety of local, state and league meetings, rules clinics, sports health workshops, committee meetings and other activities as appropriate. Performs related duties as assigned.

The season is from 2/26/18 to 5/4/18.

Experience in coaching golf required. Teaching experience in the building preferred. Valid first aid and CPR certification, or enrolled in a First Aid/CPR class; completion of accredited/sanctioned athletic health care and training program as required by the district; successful completion within the last three years of fifteen hours of clinics or two credit hours in golf; valid Washington State driver’s license; valid Washington State Teacher’s Certificate preferred.
Knowledge of golf and its value for students; rules, regulations and procedures governing high school golf; golf strategies; team dynamics and group learning; effective behavior management techniques. Skills coaching and motivating athletes; effective communication techniques.
Ability to train and instruct students in golf techniques and safety; deal with students in a warm and confident manner; remain flexible to change; establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, staff, administrators, officials, the news media and the public; organize activities; coordinate schedules; administer a budget and supervise fund-raising activities; maintain accurate records; be fair and consistent.
Work is performed outdoors. Requires significant extra-hours work; travel between sites; stamina and endurance; requires physical exertion associated with demonstrating techniques. The job duties/responsibilities of this position have been identified as high risk (reasonably anticipated to have exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens). Employees in this position are required to complete annual Bloodborne Pathogen (HIV/Hepatitis B) renewal training and are eligible to receive Hepatitis B immunizations paid for by Public Schools.

$4,354.00 – $5,190.00 for the season.
