Assistant Golf Professional
Golf Course in San Tan Valley, Arizona is looking for an Assistant Golf Professional.

Position Overview:
The Assistant Golf Professional is responsible and accountable for the daily operations of the golf shop, guest service staff and coordinates with the Head Golf Professional to provide first class service for our guest. This includes meeting or exceeding our established standards for employee satisfaction, guest satisfaction, sales and financial performance. As the Assistant Golf Professional you must lead by example by taking a proactive position to all issues concerning the golf shop and guest services. Additional duties may be assigned as required.

The Assistant Golf Professional organizes and/or directs the daily activities of the Golf Shop and the Guest Services Staff.

Oversee and assist in all tournament operations with sales managers.
Assist the Head Golf Professional in achieving targets for RevPar through the maximization of rounds and revenues.
Assist in achieving targets for retail revenues.
The Assistant Golf Professional is a mentor for the development of staff in all related areas. It becomes the responsibility of the Assistant Golf Professional to educate, train, retrain and develop team members in golf operations, tournament organization and execution, merchandising and proper check-in procedures.
Assist team members as needed.
Create a fun work environment.
It is the responsibility of the Assistant Golf Professional to maintain effective communication between all staff members in regards to course operations. Communicating the core values and mission of the Resort and Golf.
Carry out the responsibilities in accordance with the the Resort and Golf Group policies and procedures. This will include planning, assigning and at times performing activities of team members supervised.
Lead by example, setting a benchmark of performance in the areas of innovation, motivation, and animation.
Accept responsibility for personal decisions and actions.
Spontaneously recognize and celebrate team member success.
Assist with the formulation and establishing of operating procedures and goals.
Review weekly and monthly contribution reports of the golf operation.
Attend exhibitions, buying shows, tournaments and educational seminars to stay abreast of the development in the golf industry.
Proactive in exceeding guest satisfaction. At times it may be necessary to investigate, quickly respond to and resolve challenges from guests.
Ensure that superior standards of service are at all times meeting the requirements of our guests and employees and are constantly being improved upon. This may mean being creative in seeking new ways to get things done.

Requirements:
BA, degree, college or university program certificate; or two to four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from guests, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or managers, guests, suppliers, and the general public.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Must be able to execute budgets on a daily, monthly and annual basis.
Working towards Class A-8 PGA membership in good standing.
Registered Apprentice, working towards Level I checkpoint as a minimum.
Must be change adaptive, flexible, and empathetic.
Must be highly customer oriented and responsive with a high need for closure
Demonstrate initiative – ability to think, work, and make independent decisions based on sound judgment.
Ability to work well under pressure and balance multiple priorities and assignments to meet deadlines.
Strong team-building skills including the ability to lead, cooperate, motivate, and contribute as part of a team with representatives from multiple disciplines.
Must be willing to “roll-up” sleeves and dig in with staff to drive processes that support the business.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be comfortable working in a fast paced environment where continuous improvement is expected.
Must be able to consistently achieve high work standards; attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness a must.
